Minister's Message

Dear Friends,

It sounds like something form a science fiction novel to be talking about 2020 but here we are the future is now! As the New Year opens up before us there are countless opportunities and challenges which await us. One thing I can say with certainty about the year ahead is that God travels with us.

Good listening is very important for the Holy Spirit is speaking and guiding us every day. This will normally be through our encounters with the people we live and work with. What I believes sets this up is prayer. Time spent purposefully and deliberately with God is time very well spent. For a small investment of moments of stillness and reflection we can have a rich return of peace knowing God is with us. Our prayers together are also important.

Sunday by Sunday we spend time in worship, around the Bible and in prayer, these are important events. We will continue our Cluster Prayer gatherings which I believe builds up our faith and deepens our friendships. The posters will be out after Christmas please put the dates in your diary:

January 30th 4.00 pm Trinity

February 19th 3.00 pm Homewood Road

March 25th 7.30 pm Greenwood

I also hope we can run a pilot Alpha course which has been pencilled in to start after Easter, Tuesday April 14th 7.00 pm running for ten weeks. We have the full course on DVD but will need a home to host and volunteers to cook. There will be training for any who want to help lead the group itself. This is designed primarily to be an in-house event to help build confidence, get familiar with the course and build relationships across the Cluster. However if there are any guest from outside our churches they would be most welcome.

We have lots to look forward to in the year to come and it won’t always be easy. However we are gaining momentum and I feel are making good progress in drawing the Cluster towards being one church in three places.

Every blessing for the New Year, John.
